Learning Communities
In collaboration with the Faculty Development Committee, the T/LC is
helping to create more informal learning groups of faculty.
Interdepartmental communities who are currently getting together 2-3 times per semester to share
ideas, challenges and resources include the:
- Online Faculty Community (primarily serving faculty teaching entirely online or
hybrid)
- Distance Learning Faculty Community (serving faculty who teach on BHC’s
interactive television system)
Both groups also have resource space in the myBlackHawk Groups area.
To express interest in either group,
contact the T/LC staff.
Intradepartmental communitiesinclude faculty within a department who wish to share ideas,
try them out in their classes, provide feedback and support to each other,
or explore topics of interest in an informal setting. Each community’s focus
and format are determined by the group. Some rely on T/LC coordination and
input; most operate independently. For a current list of departments with
active learning communities,
contact the T/LC staff.
