Tips for Navigating the Course Equivalency Tables:

v To view a specific course equivalency go to Private Colleges Prefix Select Page or Illinois University Prefix Select Page.

v Select a prefix from the Select Prefix drop-down. For example, selecting FREN will select courses with
BHC's FREN (French) prefix. After selecting the prefix, click on submit button for course equivalencies.

v To view definitions of these prefixes, click on the BHC Abbreviations above.

Tips for Interpreting the Course Equivalency Tables:

v The Transfer or Career column designates the Black Hawk Course as Transfer or Career.  Many career courses
successfully transfer.  A career course has to transfer to at least 3 state universities in Illinois for it to be applicable
as an elective toward the Associate in Arts or Science degree.  X = Neither T or C.

v To view a list of baccalaureate abbreviations that apply to Black Hawk courses, place mouse over the Abbreviations menu
at the top of the page and then click on the appropriate institution.  You may wish to print abbreviations for reference while
       you view the tables.

v If a symbol (an asterisk *, for example) appears in the baccalaureate institution's column for a specific course, see the Notes
      Below.

v Click on Key on the menu above for abbreviations and symbols that are used repeatedly throughout the course equivalency
      tables, regardless of institution.

v When two or more courses are listed as an equivalency, the first listing indicates the transferability if the student has
taken the first course only.  Example: AG 132 at BHC transfers to WIU and is shown as follows in the  equivalency
tables: AGRI EL; AG 132+133= AGRN 176.

Students are strongly encouraged to seek the assistance of counselors and advisors when planning coursework for
transfer.  Selecting courses appropriate to individual student needs can be challenging.  Admission and program
requirements can change depending on the term a student plans to transfer.  Advisors can assist students in accessing
and interpreting current information and in making important contacts at the transfer institutions.
