Java Enabled Help (Windows)
Did your Windows computer fail the Java Enabled test?
Your computer browser needs to have Java turned on in order to access your online course. Follow the instructions below for turning on Java in your browser:
Internet Explorer
- After opening IE, choose Internet Options in the Tools menu.
- Click the Advanced tab at the top.
- Look for JIT compiler or Java in the list.
- Click the box next to the above if it doesn’t already have an X or a checkmark in it.
- If it says “Restart,” this means that you will need to restart your computer in order for these changes to operate properly. If you are making several of these changes to Browser Checkup tests that have failed, you may wait until you have made all of the changes before restarting your computer.
- Return to the Browser Checkup and run it again (after you have restarted, if that is required).
Firefox
- After opening Firefox, choose Options in the Tools menu.
- Click on the Connect button at the top.
- Click the boxes next to Enable Java and Enable Javascript if they don’t already have an X or checkmark in them.
