Two Types of Article Databases

2. Subject Databases

  • Is your topic in a particular subject area?

If so, use a subject database. Subject databases specialize in a particular subject, and the articles indexed are generally from scholarly sources. Examples of subject databases and the kinds of articles they identify are:

Business Source Elite: Indexes articles in business-related subjects such as management, finance, and advertising.

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition: Indexes articles in health and medicine.

PsycARTICLES: Indexes peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology.
