What is AITP ??

The AITP (Association of Information Technology Professionals) is an international organization for information technology professionals which has been in existence since 1951. AITP offers a wide variety of benefits to its members including technical education, professional development, financial, legal and employment services, as well as discounts on various products and services. Together with Western Illinois University, we here at Black Hawk College have formed a student chapter of the AITP.

The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) Black Hawk College Chapter is a group of IT students, teachers and professionals from the Black Hawk College/WIU area. We provide a forum to discuss new trends in information systems and offer a chance for an open exchange of ideas for people in the industry.

In 2007/2008 we are having regular Networking session meetings. Bring lots of ideas and be prepared to meet people. Its easy to find a connection to your interests and overall career goals, or a connection to help solve a problem you have. Share your knowledge and experience to polish your academic and professional skills.

Our Goal

Our goal is to provide an environment for IT students and professionals alike to learn through networking, presentations and seminars designed to give the latest developments in our industry. Our events are informal and consist of local IT professionals, students and Faculty Advisors. Our main mission is to expand our local Information-Technology community by providing interesting forums and technological platforms for IT Professionals to share interests, opportunities and, above all, knowledge.
